Founded in 1954 in St. Joseph, Missouri, STP (Scientifically Treated Petroleum) began as a maker of oil additives to improve engine performance. It gained fame through aggressive marketing and motorsports sponsorships, most notably with NASCAR legend Richard Petty. Over the years, STP expanded its product line and changed ownership multiple times. Today, it remains a trusted name in automotive care, owned by Energizer Holdings.
